Legend for a Fragile Territory

Bucharest, Romania
I make paper by hand, then work with fiber, stitching, carving, pigment, and time.
For me, paper is living matter. I make it, cut it, dye it, sew it, and let it keep the trace of touch, stress, repair, and memory.

Selected works
2025 - 2026
In this series I use paper as a map of trauma. Red, black, red, and blue mark inherited memory, boundaries, confrontation, and the slow work of putting the self back together.

I bring plant matter into the paper itself. Leaf, root, fiber, and pigment become structure, not decoration: a quiet record of the living world held inside the sheet.

About
Paper has been my way of thinking since childhood. I started with origami when I was seven, and I learned early how a single sheet can hold discipline, geometry, patience, and emotion.
I was born in Timisoara and now work in Bucharest. My connection with Japan led me to study its language, culture, and traditional paper techniques, including research with artisans connected to Echizen Washi.
In my workshop, I make paper from local mulberry fiber. I work slowly, by hand, letting the material keep the trace of where it came from, how it was touched, and what it can still carry.
